Speaker Bios:

Codie Leath resides in Newburgh, IN with her husband Brad and their two children Gunner, 4, and Lucy, 2.  A native of Owensboro, Codie, 32, graduated from Apollo High School in 1996 and Murray State University in 2000 with a degree in mathematics.  Her college years were spiritually formative through the influence of Campus Outreach.  During her time at Murray, she was trained in evangelism and discipleship and was able to pour her life into other college girls in her dorm and sorority.  She also met Brad at MSU where they became great friends and co-laborers  on campus.  They married in December 2000 and worked for Campus Outreach the next 6 years at Tennessee Tech University, Southeast Missouri State University, and the University of Memphis.  Codie was a regular speaker for the college girls at retreats and summer projects.  She also taught yoga, Pilates, and kickboxing classes on the campuses.  While in Memphis, she started BrainWave Tutoring, a high school tutoring company.  Late 2006, Codie became a stay at home mom when Gunner was born.  From 2007-2008 Codie served on the Women In Ministry Leadership Team at Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis.  Through this team, she cofounded Bloom Mentoring, a women’s mentoring program that groups younger and older women together for purposeful mentoring.  Since college, Codie has continued to be mentored herself, and is still mentoring many of those she once discipled.  In 2009, the Leaths moved to Newburgh and are currently visiting Christian Fellowship Church.  Codie has recently launched a blog, 30Thrive.com, aimed at equipping women to thrive in their Christian walks.

One of 7 daughters, Chicago native Jo Barron met her husband Bill at the Univ. of KY.  After graduating with a B.A. in Spanish, Jo moved to Acapulco, Mexico to sell condominiums.  In 1973 she married Bill and began selling new homes, later opening a real estate company.  In 1986, by God’s grace, Jo and Bill saw their sinfulness before a holy, loving, just and merciful God and that only His Son Jesus could save them from eternal hell, by taking their sins upon Himself on the cross.  They repented of their sins and believed upon the Lord Jesus Christ.  2 yrs. later, the Lord paved the way for Jo’s being able to return home full-time to be with their 6 children.  With a background of Christian theatre and dance, discipling high school girls, mentoring younger moms and being a conference speaker, Jo currently serves on the Owensboro National Day of Prayer committee, is a mentor in the Christian MentorKids KY program, leads a Sunday School class for single moms and teaches Intimate Issues to married women.  What she holds dear to her heart is being a child of God, a wife to Bill, a mother to their grown children, and a “Mimi” to their 5 grandchildren.
