Care Groups

Joining a care group is another wonderful avenue for getting connected with Heritage.  We presently have eight such groups – seven for adults and one for those in high school.  These groups meet in homes on the first Wednesday of each month, plus once a quarter for a fellowship meal.  Each year, those who do not choose one of the elective options are randomly remixed so that everyone eventually gets to know everyone else.  Our goal for having such a ministry is simple.  We want to cultivate deeper and more loving relationships where “each part [of the body] is working properly.”  God’s word teaches that the combined function of individual members “makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.”  (Eph. 4:16)  Though each group chooses a book or topic to study for the year and spends intentional time in prayer, their main purpose for existence is the deepening of meaningful fellowship in the body.  Since each of these care groups requires guidance, their existence also provides an opportunity for leadership development among our men.
