Here's a list of upcoming events for September 7-13.

 HBC Mid-Week - Wednesday, September 9 - 6:00-7:00pm

Join us Wednesday evening for our HBC Mid-Week gathering. HD and JJ will be sharing at length during our prayer meeting. It will take place in the HCS Chapel this week. Our Middle School Girls Study will resume September 16. 

Men's Breakfast and Service Project - Saturday, September 12 - 8:00am-12:00pm

Brothers, join us in the Fellowship Hall for breakfast at 8am. Afterward, at 9am, we will head to the Kerrick Home for a service project. Lunch will be provided. Contact Patrick Rowe for details and sign-up. 

CareNet Baby Bottle Campaign - Beginning Sunday, September 13

We will kick-off our annual baby bottle campaign to benefit the CareNet Pregnacy Center of Owensboro. Baby bottles will be made available on a table in the lobby. This campaign will run from September 13-October 25. Save your change (and dollars) and fill up the bottle during "Missions Month" and return it on October 25. All money goes to benefit the ministy and mission of CareNet. 

Women's Sunday School Class - Sunday, September 13 - 9:30-10:15

Our Fall Women's Sunday School class will begin THIS SUNDAY. It will meet from 9:30-10:15 before worship in the HCS Chapel. We will studying the biographies of 12 Faithful Women. This Sunday, we begin with the life of Susannah Spurgeon.

Volume 9: Jesus the Savior -- Unit 25: The Kingdom to Come

  • Adults & Students: "Jesus Tells the Parable of the Sons" (Luke 15)
    • Adults in Learning Center with Pastor Keith Maddy
    • Students (Grade 7-12) in Youth Room with Pastor Thad
  • Preschool & Kids: "Three Parables" (Luke 15)
    • 2's and 3's - Nursery
    • 4's and 5's - HCS Preschool Classroom 
    • 1st-3rd Grade - Conference Room
    • 4th-6th Grade - Art Room

Sunday Morning Worship  - Sunday, September 13 - 10:30-12:00 

This Sunday, Pastor Mark will preach a topical sermon on "Gossip and the Gospel." For those unable to or uncomfortable with re-gathering at this time, you can join us online at 10:30 at our church's Youtube pageFacebook page or Website. We will continue to have a "mask-only" area in the back corner of the gynasium. Please allow the parking immediately outside the kitchen door exit of the gym for those wishing to sit in this area.

Thank you, dear church, for offering a warm welcome to our many guests each Lord's Day. The Lord is sending people our way, so let's do all we can to greet them, introduce ourselves, offer hospitality, and befriend our guests. 

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Vote on Missionary Support for HD & JJ on September 20

We will hold a church vote to approve partial financial support of our missionaries to North Africa at our evening service on September 20. The vote will be for three months of missionary support for HD & JJ from October-December 2020. We intend to include this same monthly amount in our 2021 budget proposal. 

HBC Missions Month 2020: Salvation Stories - September 20-October 25

We will be hosting our 2nd "Missions Month" at HBC from September 20-October 25. In addition to your pastors (and some special guests) preaching from the Parables of Jesus, we are also planning various "missions" related elements for these special services. 

HBC 2020 Christianity and Culture Conference - October 23-25

Our 1st Christianity and Culture Conference will be held October 23-25 at the conclusion of Missions Month. While the conference is free for HBC members, we are asking you to register. You can sign up HERE.

New Sermon Series on the Book of Revelation - Coming November 1st!

Lord-willing, we will begin our sermon series through the Book of Revelaiton on November 1st. Aside from a brief Christmas series in December, this will be our main focus for preaching through the end of 2020 and the first half of 2021.
